"Home Starts Here" is a collaborative storytelling initiative designed to share understanding of the human side of housing in Northern Middlesex County - the City of Lowell and the Towns of Billerica, Chelmsford, Dracut, Dunstable, Pepperell, Tewksbury, Tyngsborough, and Westford.

Housing is more than just inventory, zoning codes, and rental markets. It's about stability, health, and community. By collecting and mapping stories form residents, we aim to:

• Identify the real-world impact of current housing policies
• Highlight the diverse lived experiences of Greater Lowell.
• Inform the implementation of At Home in Greater Lowell, the regional housing plan, with qualitative data.

Home Starts Here is a storytelling project developed by the Northern Middlesex Council of Governments in partnership with Health Resources in Action, the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities, the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, and the Greater Lowell Community Foundation. We are committed to a transparent, inclusive planning process that centers resident voices.
